Re: Sediment from river!
Thank, I've got another problem that ROMS didn't read boundary sediment concentration if a number of classes > 2. For example, I've put 2 classes of non-cohensive mud in eastern and western boundaries both 0.1 mg/l. There are reasonable value for MUD_01 but nothing (zero) for MUD_02 in his, sta, rst ...

Sediment from river!
I used to run ROMS with RIVER_SEDIMENT (of course with UV_PSOURSE and TS_PSOURCE). But in present version (revision 643), RIVER_SEDIMENT seems to be no longer valid. Consequently, I can run ROMS for S and T but not sediments (mud, sand) from rivers.
Any ideas, Thanks

I've successfully install both MCT 2.2 and 2.6 by gfortran(/pgi/ifort) on UBUNTU x64. But I've just set
FC = gfortran (/pgf90/ifort).
the makefile will automatically find mpif90

SWAN & ROMS coupling problem
I'm trying to run ROMS with SWAN_COUPLING, WET_DRY, UV_PSOURCE, TS_PSOURCE,SEDIMENT and SSW_BBL. I believed they're all toughest modules. I've spent almost two months on playing with ROMS but not yet been successful: - Without SWAN_COUPLING, I can get reasonable results - With SWAN_COUPLING, there ...

SEDIMENT in 2D mode
Hi,
I'm running ROMS with SWAN, SEDIMENT in 3D mode but it's quite time consuming (350x500 nodes, dt=6s).
Since my domain is shallow, I'm wonder whether the above combination can be run in 2D mode?
I supposed it can except SEDIMENT module.
Thanks

Thank for your quick reply. However I've set Tcline=hc=-2 m everywhere: *.ini, *.bry, *.in but ROMS took the value 0 somewhere and said 0 and -2 are "inconsistent value of variable....".

How to set Hmin (<0m), Tcline, Hc in WET_DRY
Dear all, In wet_dry simulation, can I set Hmin to negative (cells above MSL, say -2m) to see how the beach inundated by the tide of 3m high. If I can can do so, then, how to set Hc and Tcline. I've tried with many alternatives of Hc and Tcline without success BUT: NETCDF_CHECK_VAR - inconsistent ...

Re: potential mass conservation problem on dry cells
Hi! I didn't make ROMS run longer 1day and 15 hours. Our tidal amplitude is <1m. That means (if you said correctly "the water level to raise above the land" ) the water can come only on boundary cells with h>-1m. But my figure indicated that the water come from all boundary cells. Even though, as ...

Re: potential mass conservation problem on dry cells
Well, I didn't make any specific condition along all boundaries. They all start from initial condition (zeta=0) then driven by tidal constants. If BC at wet_dry cells was coded correctly then, Probably, I've got to check tidal constants that were interpolated form TPXO7.1. I'm not sure how the ...

Re: potential mass conservation problem on dry cells
wow! It works!!!
But I believed that there're still some bugs related to BC (when the water level is physically below bottom of the boundary cells).
The attached are output of HISTORY after 1 hour (in fact ROMS now can lives much more than that).
Thanks

Re: potential mass conservation problem on dry cells
I think probably compare Hmin to Tcline and hc is not a good idea since Hmin is elevation and the later are thickness.
I've commented out both Tcline and hc in mod_netcdf.F:
! exit_flag=5
! EXIT
but no improvement in ROMS.

I've tried to use WET_DRY for a small island that its top is at about 2 m above MSL. To reserve its original topography, I've got to use hmin = -2 m (in SEAGRID).
