Dear all,
In wet_dry simulation, can I set Hmin to negative (cells above MSL, say -2m) to see how the beach inundated by the tide of 3m high. If I can can do so, then, how to set Hc and Tcline. I've tried with many alternatives of Hc and Tcline without success BUT:
NETCDF_CHECK_VAR - inconsistent value of variable: Tcline
OR
NETCDF_CHECK_VAR - inconsistent value of variable: hc
Thanks in advance,

the values of hc and Tcline in your *.in file need to match the values in the initialization file.
negative depths are allowed with WET_DRY.

Thank for your quick reply. However I've set Tcline=hc=-2 m everywhere: *.ini, *.bry, *.in but ROMS took the value 0 somewhere and said 0 and -2 are "inconsistent value of variable....".

It is very unlikely that ROMS will change Tcline or hc internally to zero. Check your input script ocean.in. Also check your standard output file, everything is reported there. ROMS is reading and reporting the values that you provided.
In mostly all cases, the problems can be spot in the standard output file.
There is plenty of documentation for ROMS vertical coordinate system in the wiki. You need to read this information carefully.
