Fiting Coordinate system

#1 Unread post by fdaryabor »

Hi
I want Run model for South China Sea with Lonmin=98, Latmin=0 and Lonmax=125, Latmax=30.
I tried find optimum values, dl,theta_s, theta_b, hc and N for my domain but I can't find
optimum values.
Everybody could help me thank so much.
Best Regards

I think people haven't answered because we don't know what you are asking. Some of this stuff is trial and error - what have you tried and what didn't work for you?

Is this happening on the first timestep? Then I suggest trying out a debugger. We use totalview here, though the license is not free. Can you try a shorter timestep? Can you ask it to plot the fields before the trouble causes the job to crash so that you can see what is going on? I'm afraid there are no magic bullets - those of us with somewhat reasonable results have had to work through many crashes to get here (at least I know I have).

vertical profile

Hikate
I attached temperature vertical profile yield of Roms output near coasts I'm looking for near coast looks should be wrong, because depth is inversely proportional to temperature. Could you please tell me why are wrong?

Are these your initial conditions or some later state? Have you looked at your initial conditions? Where did they come from? You say this is temperature but the numbers and the shape remind me of density. What does the density look like? Is it the unstable bit in the middle that concerns you or the entire structure?

Hi Kate
I attach for you 'romstools_param.m' file, this is alone the file for edit by user, you will see that I must edit only grid parameters for building the grid, surface forcing parameters for getting the wind and other surface fluxes and getting the initial and the lateral boundary conditions. According to those I define conditions for my region (South China Sea)in Roms Agrif version. In Roms Agrif version exist Roms_Agrif directory that is actually include main files (fortran file '.F')for set model initial conditions and solve the dynamic equations, user linked to those only vi CPP key 'cppdefs.h'. Could you please guide me.

I've said it before - I can answer some basic ROMS questions, but if you need help with specific tools that aren't part of the toolset I use, you have to find an expert in them elsewhere. Does ROMS_AGRIF have its own forum?
