It looks like your header file mpif.h is either corrupted or located in the wrong path. It could be that it is, compiled with a different compiler/compiler options?
You also have an error in line 402 of your build_coawst.sh script, where you have to delete a space or an extra [.

Blow up in nested version
Hi, I am running a nested version of ROMS around the faroe shelf and my nested domain keeps blowing up, with out any obvious reason. I have tried to reduce the Haney number. but then it still blows up. I would like keep at least 35 vertical layers, and have 400 m horizontal resolution. The area has ...

Re: Bottom Friction and How to Slow Down Currents in Shallow Regions
" I think that the problem lies in the fact that bustr/bvstr are multiplied by 0.5_r8*(Hz(i-1,j,1)+Hz(i,j,1)) and are only applied to the bottom layer in the baroclinic mode." How many vertical layers do you have? What Critical depth do you have? And what are the values of bottom and surface ...

Re: ROMS Upwelling Idealisation / Test Case Failure
I just checked out the attachments centos_setup.tar, as well, and from the my_upwelling.log file there seems to be an error in the roms_upwelling.in file, where the path for ROMS/External/varinfo.dat is wrong.

Re: ROMS Upwelling Idealisation / Test Case Failure
I recognize some of these errors: #0 0x7f95ebc94171 in ??? #1 0x7f95ebc94d19 in ??? #2 0x7f95ebc95e8e in ??? I think they are from either netcdf (or other) being compiled with a different compiler, than the ROMS code itself, or if HDF5, szlib or netcdf does not come out with a perfect make check ...

Re: Velocity is too large near open boundary
To me it looks like the issue is at the northern boundary. You could try to either expand the grid to start further north at -5, or so, depending on the bathymetry. So that the bathymetry at the boundary is less steep. Or reduce the Eastern ( or is it really the Western?) boundary to 60 degrees ...

Re: Velocity is too large near open boundary
Hi,
Could you show your bathymetry of both sides of the open boundary and your grid?
