Problems using Multiple Input files in COAWST

#1 Unread post by robjenkinsiii »

Hi all,

I have several yearly forcing files for SUSTR and SVSTR.
The model runs fine with an individual year ( the first file ) but will not run when I introduce the continuation mark ( | ) and the next two years of files.
I follow the syntax for multiple time-split files in ocean.in but It still does not work.
Is there some CCP option or other setting that I am missing?

In ocean in I simply change ...

Code: Select all

     NFFILES == 3 ! number of unique forcing files
!changed Rob's version Jan 2014
     FRCNAME == delriv_2006_2012_frc.nc   \            ! forcing file 1, grid 1
                delbayfrc2006.nc          \
                roms_narr_2006.nc
to ...

Code: Select all

     NFFILES == 3 ! number of unique forcing files
!changed Rob's version Jan 2014
     FRCNAME == delriv_2006_2012_frc.nc   \            ! forcing file 1, grid 1
                delbayfrc2006.nc          \
                roms_narr_2006.nc |
                roms_narr_2007.nc |
                roms_narr_2008.nc
And the model no longer runs.

For the non-working case, The log file reports...

Code: Select all

 ROMS/TOMS - I/O error ............... exit_flag:   4

 ERROR: I/O related problem.

All the files are in the working directory.
I've searched the forum, the wiki, and the manual and I've yet to find an answer to my problem.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Additionally, I should say that I have been running this application successfully for several months and I also scoured by ocean.in file for errant characters like tabs, etc.

we have this set up the same was as Rutgers, so i am not sure why it is giving an issue.
does it work for

NFFILES == 3 ! number of unique forcing files
FRCNAME == delriv_2006_2012_frc.nc \ ! forcing file 1, grid 1
delbayfrc2006.nc \
roms_narr_2006.nc |
roms_narr_2007.nc

or even try
NFFILES == 3 ! number of unique forcing files
FRCNAME == delriv_2006_2012_frc.nc \
delbayfrc2006.nc \
roms_narr_2006.nc |
roms_narr_2007.nc

Thank you for your quick reply,

I tried both methods and both produced the same error, with ROMS unable to find the wind forcing input files.

try

NFFILES == 3 ! number of unique forcing files
FRCNAME == delriv_2006_2012_frc.nc \
roms_narr_2006.nc |
roms_narr_2007.nc \
