grid file making

Hi all, Is there any restriction that for suppose 1° resolution the depth below 300m is taken as 300m in making grid file in Roms_tools. If so how one can resolve the coastal processes? What is the option other than increasing the resolution of the domain? If that depth limitation is there...!! then ...

Re: start time for river is greater than current model time??

You may be able to solve these problems if you can make certain changes in the matlab scripts (if you are using one) that add river data into the forcing file. You may add the following lines coads_time=(15:30:365) %River.time=julian(Year,Month,Day,12.0)-2440000; (I commented this option) River.time ...

Re: wind forcing

I am having data of wind stress.
I want to force the model with this wind stress data but BULK_FLUXES enabled. How can I do? If I enable that option, I have to give winds only, so how can I use windstress in model?
I think now u understand my doubt.

Francis.

wind forcing

Hi all, How to run model using wind stress having bulk_fluxes option enabled. Because maximum all datasets like OA fluxes, SOC fluxes they are providing only wind stresses but not the individual winds data, so I want to use that data at the same time I want to use bulk flux parameterization. How can ...

Re: forcing variables

Thanks Kate. Ya, I am using BULK_FLUXES option. Actually traced out how to give specific humidity, if the is value is greater than 2 then it will take as specific humidity (g/kg) and convert it into kg/kg (coded in bulk_fluxes.F). But I didn't understand ur second answer. Actually I want to force ...

hi all, I am having net longwave radiation and net shortwave radiation during clear sky conditions, so how can I give to ROMS or how to apply cloud correction to that (I am also having total cloud amount). One more is that does ROMS will take specifice humidity or we have to convert it to relative ...

some doubts

Hi all, I am having some doubts regarding ROMS. 1. How TCLINE value effect the model ? 2. If the model was forced with some daily winds, precipitation, sea level pressure and monthly net shortwave radiation, net longwave radiation, relative humidity, what the model will do ? I mean does the model will ...

Re: how to append?

U r right Kate and thanks for ur reply.
I could do with turning on LDEFOUT in .in file.
When I make my grid to 110*62*40, it taking 2min 20 sec for one day with 22processors and the old grid took the same time with 32 processors. Thanks once again for ur reply.

Yes, u r right.
Thank u Nencio and I had given 0 nudging time scale in .in file, so it happened like that.

Hi all, I want to relax my surface salinity to climatology and others to evolve, so I used SRELAXATION. But it is not relaxing correctly when I see the sss output. When I tried to write net salt flux ssflux, it wrote nothing. I gave surface net fresh water flux in forcing file, sss, sst, tides, etc ...

Re: how to append?

Can't we do in ROMS? One more answer I want to know is, how we have to give NtileI, NtileJ options in .in file. Actually we are having 40 nodes(80 processors), my domain size is 109*62*40, so what is the correct choice for that? When I gave NtileI=2, NtileJ=16, it took 3min/day, from there onwards ...

I could solve the problem. It is fortran bug I think. When I list NVAL value first it gave that big value, but when I run the same code second time that value was gone and it had given the appropriate values. So that probelm was solved. But now when I run the same code it had given me the reading ...
