Qualified applicants are expected to have the following educational background and experience:
- Ph.D. degree (or to be expected before the end of 2023) in Physical/Biological/Chemical Oceanography or a related field is required.
- Prior experience in ocean modeling, preferably ROMS (Regional Ocean Modeling System), FVOM (Finite Volume Community Ocean Model), or similar modeling systems.
- Understanding of coastal dynamics and the interactions between marine physical and biogeochemical/biological processes.
- Experience with statistical analyses of large datasets and numerical model simulations.
- Ability to develop reports, proposals, and publications on original research. Strong written and oral communication skills, as evidenced preferably through publications in peer-reviewed scientific literature and presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Capability of interacting with a diverse group of research personnel.
