Is there some special required for wet_dry option?

#1 Unread post by wiltonwang »

I have run a test case without wet_dry successfully (the minimum depth set to 4m). But when I turn on the wet_dry option (the minimum depth set to 0.01m) the model blows up. I have tried to smooth the topography and reduce the timestep. They could not work also.
Looking for some suggestions.
Thanks a lot.

I would like to help, but messages like this make it difficult to provide guidance. I have said this before on many posts:
If the model blows up, then restart it. If it blows up again , restart it. Continue this until it blows up in just a few steps. At this point you can save every output step to a history file, and then look at the file. IS it blowing up:
- at a land sea boundary
- at a boundary point
- at a masked location
- at low tide
- ......

more information would be helpful.
