Positions are open at Instituto SINTEF do Brasil, a non-profit research and development institute, the Brazilian subsidiary of SINTEF-Scandinavia, the largest research and development organization, comprising more than 2000 employees from over 60 countries. SINTEF do Brasil supports Brazilian and international companies within their research, development and innovation processes.

Our Brazilian office consists of a team of highly skilled scientists, supported by researchers and
laboratories in Norway.

To support its growth, SINTEF do Brasil is now offering a position for 3 Researchers within
Marine Environmental Technology:

1)Position I - Physical Oceanography/Ocean Engineering

Main tasks are: Carrying out research and development related to numerical modeling and computational fluid dynamics
applied to environmental modeling, hydrodynamics, fate of oil spills and operational discharges to the sea;

Required Skills: Knowledge in Linux, C++, Fortran, MATLAB, Numerical Methods, Ocean Circulation Models

2) Position II - Ecotoxicology (GeoBioChem Modeling)

Main tasks: Carrying out research and development projects related to ecotoxicology, marine biology, experimental
biology and biological modelling applied for oil spills and operational discharges to the sea;

3)Position III - Operational Ocean Modeling/Data Assimilation

Main tasks: Carrying out research and development projects related to environmental data assimilation; forecast and
hindcast models, statistical analysis of observation data, remote sensing;

Required Skills: Knowledge in Linux, C++, Numerical Methods, Data Assimilation Methods: 3Dvar/4Dvar and/or
Kalman Filter/Ensemble Kalman Filter

Desired qualification and skills for all positions:

- PhD or MSc within compatible area;
- Good marks;
- Good oral and written communication skills in both English and Portuguese;
- Great sense of initiative and curiosity.
