Postdoc at ODU: Antarctic Physical-Biological Interactions
Postdoctoral Research Associate. Full-time position: to participate in National Science Foundation-funded projects that are focused on understanding physical-biological interactions of Antarctic continental shelf systems, with particular emphasis on the Ross Sea. This position will involve development of a coupled circulation-food web model and analysis of data as needed for model parameterization and evaluation. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in marine science or equivalent; must have experience with computer systems, FORTRAN90/95, numerical modeling, and scientific writing. Applicants should have some experience with marine food web models and knowledge of physical oceanography. The applicant is expected to prepare research results for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals, make presentations at national and international scientific meetings, and attend project-related workshops. The initial appointment is for one year with a possible renewal for a second year, pending satisfactory review of each year's results.
