i defined shflux and ssflux as zero in the forcing file. when i ran, it came out as:
NETCDF_GET_FVAR_1D - error while inquiring ID for variable: shf_time
in input file: frc_inlet.nc
call from: get_cycle.F
how to fix it? thanks

It is telling you that it needs a time dimension variable for each forcing field. Do you have a time dimension in your dimensions for the forcing field? Can you show us the "ncdump -h" for your file? It should look something like the files in Data/ROMS/CDL/frc_xxx.cdl
