Post-Doctoral Position at Georgia Tech in Savannah
The Georgia Institute of Technology in Savannah is seeking applications for a post-doctoral position for assessment of tidal energy potential. Funding is available for 18 months beginning as early as January 2009. This position will require the ability to independently configure and run an advanced numerical model simulating tidal flows along the coast of the United States. The candidate will be working with Dr. Kevin Haas and Dr. Hermann Fritz, both are faculties at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
The applicant should have a recent Ph.D. in coastal engineering, physical oceanography or a related field. Skills with Unix/Linux, Fortran and Matlab will be required. Experience running complex numerical ocean models (especially ROMS) will be beneficial.
