Hi ROMS users!!
I would like to impose a force in my model to create a source of momentum. I try with ANA_PSOURCE, but we only can impose a mass transport, and I would like to impose a force in Newton. Is there a C-preprocessing wich allow me to impose this type of force??
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to impose a force in newton
Re: Is it possible to impose a force in newton
That sounds like a body force. You can search on the string BODYFORCE to see how the winds would be applied over some number of levels. You can use this same code or copy it with a new cpp string if you need to change it.

Thank you Kate for your reply. Body force is convenient for my case.

The BODYFORCE option will distribute momentum flux (both surface and bottom) over a chosen number of layers but you still need to define what that surface stress is (in Pascals, or Newtons per square meter) in a forcing netcdf file or through ana_smflux.n (analytical surface momentum flux).
