Postdoctoral Research Associate, Ocean Data Assimilation

Applications are invited for 1-2 post-doctoral research positions in the Department of Ocean Sciences, at UC Santa Cruz to work on several ocean data assimilation and adjoint sensitivity projects using the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS).
Specific regions of interest are the coastal Gulf of Alaska in support of the US GLOBEC program, and the central US west coast with a focus on Monterey Bay. A third project is concerned with ENSO prediction using coupled models and a reduced-order Kalman Filter.
The positions are available in the first instance for 2 years with the possibility of an extension. Previous experience of ocean modeling, data assimilation, and adjoint methods is desirable.
