model blow up and tiling

#1 Unread post by mashinde »

Hi Dear frds,

I have very general question :

(1)about tiling:

How tiling settings will affect the model and blow up ?(mostly the blow up...)
What should be the ideal number of tiling for parallel computing ?
Is there any relation between horizontal/vertical resolution and number of tiling?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(2)about Falpha,Fbeta ,Fgamma,gamma:(These settings are in /Modules/mod_scalars.F and called by /Utility/set_weights.F)

What is the physical significance of these variables ?
How they affect the time step?(my guess....)

Thanks !

The model blowing up should not depend on the tiling at all. Read about the parallelization here

The timestepping is explained here and here.

Please let us know if any of it is unclear.
