Applied Science Associates, Inc. (ASA) is a science and technology consulting firm serving clients worldwide from offices in the United States, Brazil, Australia and Dubai. We specialize in solving problems related to physical, chemical and biological processes for a varied public and private clientele. ASA is currently seeking a motivated engineer or scientist for its Narragansett, Rhode Island, office who has an interest in solving technically complex problems with a common sense approach.
The position requires:
- initiative to take on challenging assignments that typically involve use of computer models and associated spatial, meteorological and oceanographic data
- experience in the application of multi‐dimensional modeling systems and analytic techniques to solve hydrodynamic, water quality, pollutant and sediment transport problems
- experience in the application of models and techniques to solve coastal engineering problems related to waves, currents, sediment erosion and accretion and their effect on coastal structures
- familiarity with met‐ocean data collection and analysis
- ability and interest to work on multiple simultaneous projects in a team setting
- ability and interest to assist in the development of proposals, reports and presentations
- ability to write clearly and logically
- ability and interest to work directly with clients
- motivation to work in a challenging and professional growth oriented environment
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum BS in engineering or science
- Four to five years relevant work experience desired
- EIT/EI or PE a plus
