2004 ROMS/TOMS Venice Workshop, final Notice

#1 Unread post by arango »

The first European ROMS/TOMS workshop will be held at the Institute for Marine Sciences (ISMAR) of the Italian Research Council (CNR), Palazzo Papadopili, Venice, Italy, October 18-20, 2004.

For a detailed information about the workshop agenda, please check the following link:

https://www.myroms.org/Papers/ROMS2004.pdf

We will provide a hard copy of the program with the workshop brochure. This brochure includes maps and touristic information about Venice. However, check the above link for directions to ISMAR/CNR. There is additional information in the "workshops" menu of ROMS web site.

Please check the following forum entry for instruction on submitting your electronic presentation:

we would like to have such presentation file by 17:00 GMT on October 13.

In previous announcements, we mentioned that we submitted a proposal to the Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG) in London for financial workshop support. We got a positive response from ONRG and the proposal was recommended for funding. However, this does not insure funding. We are still waiting for the final confirmation. Mostly all these funds will be used to provide catering services during breaks and lunch (Monday and Tuesday).

The food services will be provided by Do Forni Catering and Banqueting. The coffee breaks consists of coffee, tea, mineral water, juices, biscuits and pastries. The lunch buffet has a couple of entrees: a main course and a second course (cooked inside the palace), some grilled/fried vegetables or potatoes, bread, water, juices, wine, dessert or cake and coffee.

We are still hoping that we can get the funds from ONRG. However, if these funds do not come through, we will be forced to ask for a registration fee of either 80 euros or 100 US dollars. In such event, we will provide a registration receipt. We think that this is a very good price from Do Forni for their high quality service.

The workshop T-shirts arrived today. They look awesome. We ordered twenty extra T-shirts in case that you did not pre-order. The T-shirts are either 13 euros or 16 US dollars.
