GRTOFS sub-tidal water levels (3-hourly)

#1 Unread post by lanerolle »

I use the 3-hourly operational Global RTOFS (GRTOFS) sub-tidal water levels to force my ROMS model for Cook Inlet (Alaska) along the open ocean boundaries. However, GRTOFS fields are arhived only for the past 2-years at the official website.

I am looking for 3-hourly GRTOFS sub-tidal water levels for the 09/01/2012-03/15/2013 time period. Does anyone on the ROMS forum have these fields and if so, would you be willing to kindly give me access to them?

Many thanks.

Though it uses a different meteorological forcing product (NOGAPS in the time period you seek) global HYCOM should in principle provide the sea level reanalysis you ask for:
https://hycom.org/dataserver/glb-reanalysis

In would pay to check the consistency of the two when you merge them in case there is a change in effective sea level datum associated with any mean dynamic topography in the altimeter data assimilation.
