Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biogeochemical Modelling
Dalhousie University, Oceanography Department
Marine Environmental Modelling Group
The Marine Environmental Modelling Group (MEMG, http://memg.ocean.dal.ca/) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral position in the general area of biogeochemical modelling.
A Ph.D. in Oceanic, Atmospheric or Environmental Science, prior modelling experience and programming skills are prerequisites. Familiarity with ROMS, FORTRAN and Matlab would be beneficial.
The successful candidate will join an interactive research group and will work on regional biogeochemical modelling (and possibly data assimilation) of the northwestern North Atlantic continental shelves and adjacent deep ocean.
The appointment is initially for one year, with a possible extension depending on performance and continued availability of funding. Applicants are asked to provide a CV, a statement of research interests and expertise, transcripts, and names and e-mail addresses of 3 referees familiar with the applicant’s work. Electronic applications with “Biogeochemical Postdoc Application” in the subject line are to be sent to Prof. Katja Fennel (katja.fennel@dal.ca). Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received.
