problem in starting ouput

#1 Unread post by revathy »

Dear all,
I am running roms-2.2 with .25 deg horizontal resolution and 32 vertical levels. I am forcing with climatological values. I am using initial conditions from the roms tool box kit. When I run the model for one month or so. I am getting starting values of all variables like temperature, salinity, etc. very low i.e., temp 2-10C, salinity 35-36 psu through out my domain. After 10days, I am getting values reasonable. Why this is happening? can I proceed further? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I forget to say my domain. My domain is indian ocean region. So it happens every time in Indian ocean region that temperatures are not in the range of 2-10C but my model output is in that range for some days say 10 and then some reasonable temperatures are coming after that . So can I use that model set up for further to run for spinning up ? Is the model start with that type of low temperatures and salinities at the starting and then grew up?
Please do reply

Thanks in advance.

You need to investigate this more yourself. Where are the low temperatures coming from? Is it from your initialization? Is the output file in agreement with what's going on in the model or did the model write some nonsense? We can't help until you can answer these questions.
