when I define AVERAGES_DETIDE in the .h file, it don't work

I am trying to use the AVERAGES_DETIDE option, but it tells me :
it works fine when this function is not defined.

I dont know how to figure this out, and i have similar problem when i get AVERAGES defined. I use ROMS version 3.4 and i have no idea if this would happen in latter new versions.

BTW: I wanna ask what are the detide fields.
