Re: Biological Tracer from River
We all know, the getting biochemial dataset is very difficult, especially for smal rivers. Perhaps the questioner does not want to use river data of high uncertainty. I guess that questioner want to apply only physical variable such as transport and temperature in river except for biochemical ...

nudging/relaxation time scale field
I want to apply a relaxation layer for temperature and salinity at only east boundary using a climatology nudging. Boundary file is used daily HYCOM and climatology file is used monthly HYCOM. My test cases are three. common setting: East and West tracer RadNud, TNUD == 5.0, OBCFAC == 5.0 in ocean ...

Re: about model iteration parameter : ocean.in & bio_fennel.
Like I said, I've never used the ROMS ensemble capability, so I don't know what it does. You should perhaps find out for yourself what it is doing to "inflate the solution space", i.e., not get the same answer for each member. If you really want the same solution, you can do that by running many ...

Re: about model iteration parameter : ocean.in & bio_fennel.
You are running an ensemble of simulations and you're asking why different ensemble members are different? I don't know what ROMS is doing in this case, but generally you want enough spread in your ensemble members to represent the natural (nonlinear) variability in the system. What is it that you ...

about model iteration parameter : ocean.in & bio_fennel.in
Hello dear, I have ran the PHY-BIO coupled model. I faced the problem which is changed result whenever model-run although same condition. Is it possible? If possible, (1) I wonder why the gap is occurred (2) and how I will resolve it. I asked a similar question previously and I guessed by non-linear ...

Re: about nudging problem (TCLM_NUDGING)
Sorry, I meant experiments 3 and 4. How did their setups differ? So, we can't answer all your questions. You're the one who has to dig in and find out what's going on with your fresh water. Does your supercomputer center support an interactive debugger? Maybe it's time to learn how to use it. Or ...

Re: about nudging problem (TCLM_NUDGING)
I don't think 3 and 4 are so very different. How did you get the fresh water in without the nudging? Are you sure the interior nudging is off in 3 and 4? It looks like it's nudging towards salty water. I don't understand what you say 3 and 4. 3 and 4 are figure number? or EX number? If figure ...

Re: about nudging problem (TCLM_NUDGING)
I think a few pictures would help us understand what you are saying. I think you have two issues: 1. Not enough fresh water inflow - from a river? from an open boundary? Is the low salinity in WOA? 2. You made a small change and the results are wildly different. Right? That's not a surprise with a ...

about nudging problem (TCLM_NUDGING)
Hello dear, I have using TCLM_NUDGING of CPP option to decrease between climatology and simulation. Nudging area is limit at northern part of my domain. i.e. I using nudging only northern part. Climatology data is WOA09. By the way, my problems are two. First is phenomenon which low salinity don't ...

about nutrient concentration in river
Hi dear.
I use fennel model in ROMS.
my question is nutrient concentration in river.
I don't entered concentrations of bio variable in river file.
so when running model, what's the value? zero? or default?
if default,
how to calculate this tile?
thanks for reading

I want to know that where is advection term in fennel model
Hi dear, 1. I want to know equation of fennel model in ROMS, where is BIO advection term BIO equation according to fennel et al. 2006 (I express partial derivative is 'P' and total derivative is 'D' in this topic.) for instance, PChl/Pt = rho*mu*Chl - g*Zoo*Chl/Phy - ... - tau*(SDet+Phy)*Chl = sink ...
