Re: Large deviation between history output and average outpu
Hi Professor Wilkin, I confirm that the time series I am comparing are of the same time coordinate. These are the outputs of the entire simulation. There is negligible freshwater inflow during the first three months as it is the dry season at my study site. That is why the historical salinity ...

Re: Offline Heat Budget calculations from ROMS model output
Dear Professor Wilkin, I am wondering if you can help me further with another mysterious issue with the time-averaged variables. Basically, I'm not observing correspondence between variables in the history file and variables in the avg file. For example, salinity values of the same cell look ...

Re: Offline Heat Budget calculations from ROMS model output
Thank you very much Prof. Wilkin, now I understand it. Thanks for opening my eyes, now I see that all I asked for is in the set_diags.F and that the diagnostics variables are averaged in the same way as the average variables (in the set_avg.F).
Best regards,
Wencai

Re: Offline Heat Budget calculations from ROMS model output
Dear Prof. Wilikin and everyone, I'm trying to analyze information from both, the AVERAGE file and the DIAGNOSTICS file for performing a salt budget, but there are some features that are a bit confusing. The first one I want to ask here is about the time averaging of the diagnostics variables. All ...

Large deviation between history output and average output
Hi, I am running ROMS at a semi-enclosed embayment with seasonal freshwater inflow. I requested the model to output both the historical and averaged results hourly. However, when I compare the historical salinity and averaged salinity of the surface layer at a grid close to the river inlet, it shows ...

Volume not conserved.
Hi, I am running ROMS on a semi-enclosed embayment with result output at each time step (10 seconds), and the result shows that volume is not conserved as I compute the volume fluxes at the four boundaries of a water column, of which the grid size is 555 m * 567 m. The sea surface level of the water ...
