Re: How to hot-start swan?
Dear moritz I solved the similar problem by compiling swnhcat.F and editing hcat.nml which was exist in COAWST/SWAN/Src. so that I edit the nml file as follow: &arg_nml !namelist identifier basefile = "swanrst2.dat", !(required) base file name (w/o mpi node tag) free = .true. !(optional) free format ...

generate nested grid using pyroms
Dear all / pyroms users I am working on nesting a ~700 x 700 m grid inside a ~4.9 x 4.9 km grid form a three level nesting project. Parent grid is made by pyroms which able to control rx0 (grid stiffness ratio (gf)) but child grid is made using coarse2fine matlab script from Rutgers. Matlab script ...

PYROMS masking is opposite in Yellow sea case
Hi
I used pyroms for creating yellow sea grid test case but finally it made a grid with opposite values for masking (0 for sea - 1 for land). What is the solution to correct this?

netcdf output from SWAN
Dear all, I ran the only swan model from COAWST; everything is right except that when I decide to have netcdf output. During run processes, swan (COAWST) makes number of eigth files (in equal to number of used cores) for each quantity and at the end it combine them together to create single output ...

Re: coupling with COAWST
dear john, thanks for your reply
you right. the problem caused by wind forcing, I recreate the wind file and use idla=1 according to my instruction. swan fully working.

coupling with COAWST
Dear all I configured a coupled model (roms+swan) for different grids. it seems that evrything is good, it works and make results but after 45 day it seems that go to a kind of stop, not message not blow up and not do anything. I have just the results for first 45 day :!: . after running each model ...

Rotating nested grid
Dear all,
I know there are some choices for re-scale grids during nesting; users are referred into keep nesting ratio factor as 3:1, 5:1 and 7:1. but there is a question: can I turn nested refinement grid? can we obtain a nested grid with different orientation against main grid?

Re: forcing the ROMS with ERA interim
Dear all,
I have also this problem for converting factor for my data sets. I get ECMWF ERA interim data set e.g. precipitation by choosing analysis time: 06:00 and 12:00 and select step: 6 and 12; I don't know what is the converting factor to convert data unit into ROMS unit (3*3600 or 6*3600)?

Re: swan+roms test
dear fereshteh Do you have any change into roms grid file and make swan files again or no? I ran all four INLET_Test cases without any error. As Warner said, try to run them by 1 processor for ROMS and 1 processor for SWAN. In general, the coupled model can be run only when your number of processor ...

Preparing Input data for Great Lake (Caspian Sea)
Dear All
Could you tell me about how can I prepare input data files for Caspian Sea?
Caspian Sea is a great lakes but most of datasets are related to the global models and this area is blank.
