Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunities at the Naval Research Laboratory, Stennis Space Center, MS
The Naval Research Laboratory has postdoctoral fellowship positions available beginning immediately. We are searching for an individuals working in oceanographic research areas from physical oceanography, through numerical modeling, to data assimilation. Of particular interest is the optimal estimation of the ocean environment through a combination of observations and dynamical equations. NRL conducts basic and applied research that leads to operational ocean prediction systems providing information on a wide range of ocean parameters and impact due to a spectrum of processes.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with some of the best modelers and data analysts in the ocean community. The Naval Research Laboratory has access to the major supercomputer sites as well as excellent local computer resources. The laboratory is collocated with the Naval Oceanographic Office, which is a major repository of in situ measurements for the Navy. Positions pay $56,000 / year. For a quick overview of some of the research projects within the NRL oceanography division at Stennis Space Center, visit the web site: http://www7320.nrlssc.navy.mil/projects.php
Applicants must be a US resident at time of application. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. We are searching for 2 new researchers by October 2004 and 2 more in the following year. Please mail or e-mail a resume and description of research interests, or phone:
