Forum "search" problem...

#1 Unread post by jmjaneiro »

Hi,

I was not sure where to report this "bug" on the forum about the forum, so I stick it here :D
Since the forum "looks" was updated, I'm not being able to search, or see advance search options. Don't know if anyone else has the same problem though.
This is a very useful and time saving tool in the forum.

Thanks

João

It works for me. Look the forum header. There is bottom for Search for: for the new and improved searching capabilities of the forum. There is also a Search link next to FAQ in the header that has the google searching capabilities. I just tried both and work for me. I don't know what are you talking about :!:

Hi all;

The search engine is not working here as well.

I did some tests, that maybe will help to find the problem.
I used Firefox 3 and Explorer7 in the tests and the words sponge and arango:

First; I tried the "Search for" button in the header:

It doesn't work when I'm logged or not logged at index.php

It works when I'm NOT logged and inside one topic like viewforum.php?f=14

But it doesn't work when I'm logged and I got:
"Sorry but you are not permitted to use the search system".

Second; I tried the Search link next to FAQ:

The link doesn't appear when I'm logged.

If try the search page search.php
It doesn't work and I get: "Sorry but you are not permitted to use the search system".

The link appears and it works fine when I'm not logged.

If you need to use the search tool, before it's fixed:

Logout and use search.php

Cheers

The search feature should be fixed now. Thanks for reporting the problem and thanks to user ocecept for describing the problem in a way that allowed me find it and fix it.
