The School for Marine Science and Technology at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications from qualified students to our Masters and Ph.D. programs to work on problems in coastal ocean modeling. Possible research areas include, but are not limited to coupled marine/ecosystem models, sediment transport and morphology, and the application of adaptive mesh refinement schemes. A bachelors or masters degree in oceanography, physics, engineering, computer sciences, applied mathematics or related field is required. Applicants should have strong mathematical and computer skills and some background in fluid mechanics. Review of applications is ongoing through Spring 2008, and will continue until the positions are filled. Enrollment beginning Fall 2008 is expected.
