My research group at the Oregon State University’s College of Earth Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences is seeking a Research Associate (post-doc) in coastal ocean modeling and data assimilation. This two-year position is part of the Cormorant Oceanography Project (www.osudashcams.com), a collaborative effort to collect oceanographic observations from small sensors attached to cormorants (diving coastal seabirds), and assimilate the data into coastal ocean models. Data are currently being collected at multiple field sites worldwide. The Research Associate will be responsible for running regional models for coastal ocean currents and waves, and developing code to assimilate data with ensemble-based methods.
