A 1-year postdoctoral position in regional modeling is available in the oceanographic lab of the IRD center of New Caledonia. The funding project is an integrated study of the relation between ecological conditions and tuna fisheries with a focus on regional ENSO and climate impacts. The person selected would be responsible for running, tuning, validating and analysing a muti-year simulation of a coupled physical-ecosystem model (ROMS-PISCES) configured for the southwest Pacific region around New caledonia. He will work within a modeling group and interact with physicists and biologists at both IRD and SPC centers. More details on the project are available at http://www.ird.nc/UR65/Marchesiello (New Caledonia projects).
