caspian sea topography

Dear friends,

Caspian sea is quite a deep lake in some regions (hmax=1000). But after running "make_grid", regardless of hmin and hmax, its topography map can not be extended to deeper regions, even if hmax was set to larger amounts (hmax=700, 800, ...).
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Maybe it's the bathymetry smoothing you are applying. Have you tried without smothing or higher r_factor? Just a guess...

Does the bathymetry used by make_grid go deep enough? Do you have access to a better bathymetry?

But it's interesting that the problem with the same settings does not apply for other domain (Persian gulf).
