North Carolina State University, Dept. of Marine, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences seeks to hire two postdoctoral researchers to work on coastal circulation & marine ecosystem dynamics using numerical models. One position focuses on circulation modeling and data assimilation, and the other focuses on marine biogeochemical modeling.
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in oceanography or related discipline. Experience with advanced ocean models is essential. Demonstrated proficiency in running complex model codes on high-performance computers, performing statistical analysis and scientific programming (e.g., Fortran) and scripting (using languages such as Perl, Python, NCL, Matlab) is much desirable.
The positions are available immediately. The initial appointment is for 1-year with continuation contingent on satisfactory performance. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
