what are Drivers ?

hi everyone, I am new user of Roms, I don't know what are Drivers? Are they functions of the model?

In ROMS they are the main programs that call the worker routines. ROMS has a bunch for a variety of data assimilation needs, but the default (forward) model is in nl_ocean.h.
