Oceanographer
Fugro GEOS Inc. is part of the Fugro Group and is one of the world’s leading companies specializing in oceanographic and meteorological measurements, assessment and consultancy. We are further expanding our Houston-based operations, serving the oil and gas industry and government clients and are seeking highly motivated individuals.
We are looking for a graduate oceanographer with a thorough understanding of tide, wave and current processes. Core duties for this role include:
• Physical oceanographic and meteorological data processing and analysis.
• Data interpretation and report writing.
• A limited amount of offshore fieldwork
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in physical oceanography, or in a related science. Good all-round PC literacy is essential, including experience with Microsoft products. Previous use of Matlab (or similar) for data manipulation and statistical analysis is advantageous but not essential. Applicants will be required to demonstrate a high degree of initiative and attention to detail. A strong command of both written and spoken English is vital.
Candidate must be able to work in the US. Salary commensurate to education and experience.
