Ocean-Climate modelling &/ model development postion open with the Southern Ocean Carbon-Climate Observatory https://socco.org.za/ in Cape Town, South Africa.
TLDR; We study heat, carbon and biogeochemistry in the Southern Ocean, we use the NEMO model in high resolution configurations. So, modellers, model users, model developers, etc. please take a look.
The Southern Ocean Carbon-Climate Observatory (SOCCO), is an interdisciplinary research programme hosted by Smart Places within the Holistic Climate Change Impact Area at the CSIR. SOCCO is entering Phase IV of their Integrated Science and Innovation strategy, which aims to extend its historical excellence in basic Southern Ocean carbon-climate science but also to expand its impact by bringing ocean climate science closer to addressing societal needs more explicitly. To achieve this, SOCCO would like to improve their models and modelling capabilities towards strengthening Earth System Model projections of future climate for effective mitigation and adaptation policies. In addition, SOCCO is building a national modelling capability to support robust policy development around ocean carbon dioxide removal. that can These models are run and analysed on the supercomputing facilities of the NICIS-CHPC (Centre for High Performance Computing).
