Dear Colleagues and IWMO Friends,
We are very pleased to present the second announcement for the 10th International Workshop on Modeling the Ocean (IWMO2018) to be held in Santos, Brazil, on June 25-28 2018.
The IWMO 2018 website is now open for registrations and abstract submissions:

Santos is a beautiful city, nestled up the "Baia de Santos" in the mighty Brazil Current*. The city is just south of Sao Paulo and with direct bus lines from the international airport. The meeting will take place at the conference room of Mendes Plaza Hotel, which is the official hotel of the event. It is a comfortable place, just two blocks from the beach, with a complete infrastructure and close to restaurants, stores and malls. There is a link in the IWMO2018 page to the hotel website, where you can verify details of types of rooms and prices. Many other hotels do exist around but considering the prices are very similar for the same category, we strongly suggest to foreign guests to stay at this hotel to avoid the hassle of daily commute and for personal safety during the meeting.
Please mark June 25-28 2018 in your calendars to the 10th IWMO in Santos. We hope to see all of you there!
We wish you all a happy 2018, plenty of health and achievements.
Best regards,
Ricardo de Camargo & Leo Oey
On behalf of the local organizing and international scientific committees
*The name was given by James Rennell in 1832: "An Investigation of the Currents of the Atlantic Ocean, and of those which prevail between the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic" published by Lady Rodd (359pp). The existence of the Current was first recognized long before Rennell however, in 1663 by the Dutch scholar Isaaci Vossius (1618-1689).
