We are announcing a COAWST Training workshop to be held:
August 15-19, 2016, in room 507 Clark Building, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Quissett Campus, Woods Hole, MA.
There will be a $75 registration fee to cover room charges, snacks, and cookout. If you would like to attend the Training, please send an email to jcwarner@usgs.gov with:

- Specify if you would like to give a brief presentation during the workshop (general overview of your work, 5 minutes each).
Training will target people who have at least a basic working knowledge of the different components of the modeling system (that includes ROMS, WRF, and SWAN). Before attending, you should be able to download the code, compile it on your system, and at least run some of the basic test cases that are distributed. Please plan to attend with a working example of your own application. There will be time to continue developing it, as well as discussing issues, share approaches, explain new features, and allow members to interact. We plan to have the presentations broadcasted via webex and recorded for those who cannot attend on site.
Prior to the Training we plan to release COAWST v3.2 with updated versions of ROMS, WRF v3.7.1, ability to use moving WRF nest with coupling, new version of SCRIP weights generation, updates to sea ice model (Kate's branch), and updates to the coupling using multiple grids from different models. This will bring new capabilities, options, and challenges and we plan to focus the afternoons to practice the new tools for model coupling with multiple grids.

Mon afternoon - WRF application: H Sandy, static + moving nests
Mon dinner - cookout on campus
Tues morning – ROMS overview, nesting, boundary conditions, climatology/forcing/boundary data
Tues afternoon – ROMS application, WRF+ROMS coupling
Wed morning - SWAN overview, wave physics.
Wed afternoon - SWAN application, coupling WRF+ROMS+SWAN. Self guided applications.
Thurs morning - Sediment, InWave, SeaIce, Tools, manuals, web sites
Thurs afternoon - Self guided applications.
Fri all day (optional) - Self guided applications.
Wifi internet connections provided during the week. Comments/suggestions welcome. Poster session possibility.
