Dear ROMS users,
Has anyone tried to implement the Bignami bulk formula for the calculation of the net longwave radiation, in the Mediterranean Sea?
If so, where the results satisfying in comparison to the Berliand formula?
Best,
Thanos

Re: Trieste - Rovinj connection for the workshop!
Dear Madeline,
I was wondering if anybody else is going to Rovinj through Trieste, so that perhaps we could hire a car. The cost is 140E for the one way trip. The same of course applies for the return as well (I am departing on Friday 30 at 11.40).
Best,
Thanos

Re: Mediterranean Sea Model setup advises
Dear Ivica, Thanks for your prompt reply! But why when using POM model, with only boundary and initial conditions from medatlas, I get the classic features of the Med circulation after a month’s run? My forcing fields are just zeros and I have no river inputs indeed. I would like to proceed step by s ...

Mediterranean Sea Model setup advises
Dear ROMS users, I am trying to set up an experiment for the Mediterranean Sea. The model setup is based on the Fjord experiment with numerous changes. For the time being, I use monthly T and S boundary and initial conditions based on Medatlas. My setup can be seen in the .h and .in files that I ...

Re: Open Boundary Conditions
I'm at home today and I'm not going to tell you what print statements to add. I would actually use a debugger instead to view values as the model runs. You might check to see how U_eastward and V_northward are set to see if the boundary values are ever not zero. Search for them in the code and make ...

Re: Open Boundary Conditions
Dear users, I am relatively new to the forum and to modeling with ROMS. I am currently in the step of realizing how boundary conditions work with ROMS. My area of interest is the Mediterranean Sea and my open boundary is located in the Atlantic. In order to build these boundary conditions I used ...

ROMS bathymetry
Dear users, I am a new ROMS user and I am trying to build my area bathymetry netcdf file. I am using the USGS seagrid and I am facing the problem that I will describe. I am providing the bathymetry file in .mat form, exactly how I want it. Meaning that I have checked it in almost all points, it has ...

Re: Problem
Thanks Giannis,
I appreciate it! I am also focusing on using seagrid, but I am facing some problems, probably with the Netcdf routines. Do you also have any experience with Roms_tools on the grid/forcing files creation?
Best,
Thanos
